This policy sets out how Future Stars Tuition looks after children, tutors, and visitors if an accident or injury happens during a session.
A stocked first aid kit is kept on hand at every session, and at least one first aid-trained tutor is present throughout.
Our Designated Safeguarding Lead is responsible for making sure:
- Insurance cover is kept up to date
- The first aid kit is always available, fully stocked, and easy to reach during a session
- If a child needs to go to hospital by ambulance, they are either accompanied in the ambulance if paramedics ask for this, followed to hospital by a tutor to stand in for the parent or carer until they arrive, or met at the hospital by a parent, carer, or other relative
- A record is kept of every child who receives first aid, including what happened and what treatment was given, and parents or carers are told about the injury and treatment as soon as possible
- Where a child says they feel unwell, particularly with headaches, we ask enough questions to understand what's going on, so we don't miss an injury that's making them feel this way
